Melons
The melon is a fruit from the Cucurbitales order and is related to the cucumber family. Technically, the melon is thus a vegetable, not a fruit. Melons are trailing plants cultivated mainly in (sub)tropical regions. The melon is easy to cross. That is the reason there are about 70 different varieties of melon. The most popular varieties in the Netherlands are cantaloupe and watermelon.

Ideal storage temperature:
Between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius.
